Body scan of 250 lb woman and 120 lb woman. If this isn’t motivation to work out, I don’t know what is! I’m NOT implying that a women needs to weigh 120 lbs…that’s no where near realistic for some people…but it is about health and longevity and the damage obesity causes. Look at the size of the intestines and stomach; how the knee joints rub together; the enlarged heart; and the fat pockets near the brain. Cakes have gotten a bad rep. People equate virtue with turning down dessert. There is always one person at the table who holds up her hand when I serve the cake. “No, really, I couldn’t,” she says, and then gives her flat stomach a conspiratorial little pat. Everyone who is pressing a fork into that first tender layer looks at the person who declined the plate, and they all think, “That person is better than I am. That person has discipline.”

But that isn’t a person with discipline; that is a person who has completely lost touch with joy. A slice of cake never made anybody fat. You don’t eat the whole cake. You don’t eat a cake every day of your life. You take the cake when it is offered because the cake is delicious. You have a slice of cake and what it reminds you of is some place that’s safe, uncomplicated, without stress. A cake is a party, a birthday, a wedding. A cake is what’s served on the happiest days of your life. This is a story of how my life was saved by cake, so, of course, if sides are to be taken, I will always take the side of cake.

Couch 2 5k, week 2 day 2, went pretty smoothly.  Gym was packed so you get a sketch bathroom pic. Burned 450 calories.

Also, I can’t emphasize this enough, don’t wait to start anything. Just Do It, lol Nike, but seriously, there is no reason you can’t start something. I told myself I would try to start running when I reached 260 pounds, before that I was doing 2 hours of cardio a night at a blistering 3.0 pace. Now, the speed I was doing is/was not important, the good thing is that I was doing it. But I had a mental block in my head that I couldn’t run until I was lighter, and while I am not running non-stop or on a marathon type distances, I am doing it and I am getting better, more comfortable each time out. Self doubt is the biggest hurdle we all have to overcome during our fitness/weightloss journey. I have it all the time, but I am going to keep pushing myself and making myself uncomfortable until the day finally comes that I am completely comfortable with myself inside and outside the gym.

This, right here, is true fitspo.
